Ways to Get Involved

Involvement in ABLE provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a student’s life, and we have several opportunities to become involved. Click here to contact ABLE about getting involved.

• ABLE’s Executive Committee – Members are responsible for shaping and leading the organization.  Generally, involvement in other parts of the organization precedes a role on the Executive Committee. 

• ABLE Full Sponsors* – Full Sponsors raise or contribute $2,000 annually, or $6,000 on a one-time basis, and provide mentorship to enable an at-risk student to pursue a charter or private high school education.

• ABLE Time Sponsors – Time Sponsors contribute time to mentor the student throughout 4 years of high school and also provide a more modest financial commitment of at least $250 annually.  They are paired with Financial Sponsors, who cover a larger portion of students' tuition costs.

• ABLE Financial Sponsors* – Financial Sponsors strictly provide financial support through raising or contributing $2,000 annually, or $6,000 on a one-time basis, to provide a full scholarship for a student.  Financial Sponsors also have the option to be paired with Time Sponsors and receive updates on a student’s progress throughout his or her high school career. 

• ABLE Action Committee – ABLE Action Committee is a group of volunteers who dedicate time once at least once a year to contribute to the success of fundraising and ABLE events.  Please see below for more information on the Action Committee.

* While the goal for the mentoring commitment is four-years, ABLE recognizes that plans are often uncertain.  Please speak with an ABLE Executive Committee member for more details on the length of the commitment.  In all cases the financial contribution is for four years.  However, sponsors do have the option to raise or contribute their amount in a lump-sum.
